Flavorcrest peaches were developed in 1974 in Fresno, California. They are one of the most widely grown peach variety in the nation. They ripen about 28 days before standard Elbertas and have a lighter color than the Paul Friday variety. They are red for of the peach and then yellow for the remaining portion when they are ripe. These peaches are freestone which means that the flesh of the peach easily separates from the pit.
