COLTERRIS – from the Colorado land

Colterris is located in Palisade on Colorado’s beautiful and picturesque Western Slope. The Grand Valley AVA, specifically East Orchard Mesa, produce wine grapes high in quality and distinction. The favorable meso-climates of our vineyard locations, volcanic soils from the towering Grand Mesa backdrop and the waters of the mighty Colorado River contribute to the rich color, intense fruit flavors and robust character that make Colterris wines unique. Currently, the High family has 4 vineyard sites:

  • Theresa’s Vineyard with six clones of 20,700 Cabernet Sauvignon vines planted in 2001, and one clone of 800 Merlot vines in 2011
  • Katie’s Vineyard with one clone of 1,016 Cabernet Franc vines planted in 1987, and one clone of 1,700 Malbec vines in 2011
  • Scott’s Vineyard with two clones of 3,587 Malbec vines planted in 2012 and 2013, and 4 clones of 5,400 Cabernet Franc vines in 2013 and 2014
  • Two Brothers’ Vineyard with one clone of 678 Petit Verdot vines planted in 2008
